Facilitation of Learning

In order to support this kind of learning, the help of a learning “facilitator” is essential. This is a required element of the AITTS training concept in order to ensure effective and sustainable learning, reflection of practice, and, reversely, application of theory to practice. The facilitator advises learning towards the person of the learner and towards the actual working/learning subjects.

Facilitating a learning process involves:

• Consulting on self-directed learning
• Recognizing demand for learning and/or training (“Where am I and where do I want to be?”, “How do I get there?”)
• Coaching
• Facilitating reflection
• Helping to establish new behaviour and skills
• Supporting the “Lessons Learnt” process and documentation
• Designing conducive learning environments.
