The “Professionals”

Concept of a “Professional”

“Just a manager” is not the aim here! Professionals are understood to be experts, whose proficiency is based on comprehensive training and substantiated by experience grounded in the practice of their profession. They have worked in the various branches of technical expertise and assume line management responsibility for projects or organizational units. The basis for these functional levels, however, continues to be Specialists’ experience and Specialists’ competence – or something equivalent thereof.

Main criteria to delineate the Professionals’ from the Specialists’ level are

• Management responsibility for personnel, budget, marketing
• Impact on technical and/or process engineering
